Compomotive Wheels in Receivership
« on: September 02, 2013, 04:44:19 pm »
Just been told from a friend who worked there that Compomotive Wheels have  apparently gone into receivership, itappears the Directors will be setting up Compomotive International with wheels now made in China rather than the UK. Sad news with 40 years of UK production  :fighting:

Shame about the Compomotive company. They've been the staple wheel for so so many rally teams. Always fancied a set of Compo MO's. :-(

Big shame about this, have always loved the style and motorsport heritage of Compomotives.

thats shame, but its the world today unfortunatly..

I had a set of 18" Compo MO's years ago on mu Kandy Red Nissan Pulsar GTiR
Think it was when 18's were still realitvily new as i paid an absolute fortune for the tyres but by f*ck did the car look sexy as hell with them!!

One of the defining moments for me was when the alloy wheel nuts stripped, meaning the front n/s wheel became detached.. the car dropped onto the Wilwood BBK and "D shaped" the rotor.. we found the wheel in amongst the trees, bobbing away in the stream! we could stand straight for laughing our tits off!!

Hi,

I've just read your post about compomotive and I'm seriously p'd! Your post is the only thing I can find about this on the web. They have one of my wheels back for refurb and I want it back! Can you tell me any more or do you have any contacts I can get in touch with to find out more? I was dealing with Erik there up until last week and wondered why I hadn't been able to get in touch since last week.

I'd really appreciate any help you can give me as at the moment I have only 3 wheels on my motor  :sad1:

Thanks...

Compomotive Wheels XXXX - As you were in sales and you did not do much of that.. don't you think you need to take some of the blame.

they go on to say they are restructuring.. yeah yeah yeah

Thanks for you reply.

I fell very sorry for your mate. Did he work with Erik?

It looks like I'm going to have to try and get this back through the receiver, which will be a nightmare. It would be a huge help if your mate could help with any names etc. I understand the wheel was due to go for stripping at an outside company, so my wheel could be there if they aren't paying the bills. All I need to find out is the name of the strippers...

If you mate can help me at all, then I would be happy to compensate him for his time.

I think a drive over there tomorrow might be in order.

Cheers...
