Warning, if ordering caddy hazzard switch make sure angles are correct...

I have had one for about 3 months, as yet unfitted, just found it in my  "to fit" drawer at work, looking at the eBay piccys there maybee more of a slope from top to bottom with the caddy switch compared to a golf, hard to tell.

Prob best to take  yours along to compare.

I apologise in advance if anyone spent money and it doesn't fit nicely..

Is it not an MOT item the hazard switch being red? Similar to the release button on seatbelts, must be red to pass.

Mk6 Golf switch is black.

I had a look through the MOT guidelines the other day about the red hazard switch and also the red seatbelt buttons... but couldn't see anything on either:

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_510.htm

It must be a requirement for the seat belt button, as every car I can think of has red buttons.

.

On a different note, is the Mk6 seating position more offset than the Mk5?

looks good. tbh i wouldn't ever fit a black hazard switch (feel it should be easily and quickly visible in an emergency) but that red one looks smart  :happy2:

So if you fitted a black hazard switch does it somehow enable a cloaking shield for the button?

Everyone knows where the button is... and if you dont and need to look for it in an emergency then your gonna have an accident anyway!

this is complete madness great idea...so have u tested it uner heavy breaking and it all works fine
Plus it can be enabled via VCDS to flash the hazards under heavy breaking condtions. I demo'd the S3 brake setup for a mate last weekend and thats triggered the hazards without me having to touch the button.

If that's the case, why are cars still being pumped out from the factory with black switches?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
