I have a OEM sharkfin which i've been using on my RNS 510 but it lost all signal last week,i'm sure it's the blue fakra connector that's faulty, would it be ok to cut off the fakra and connect a new one?

Can't see that working out easy - Eddie-NL had some cables for sale or you could try a puck to prove the issue.

I've bought a Puck and it doe's confirm that the OEM connector is faulty as it doe's work for a while if you hold it in place,i'll see if Eddie has anything that could help me.

You can take the plastic part of the connector off easily and use that but electrically I can'tsee anyone selling the lug to allow the end to be remade!
Then cutting the end off the puck and using that would require access to a gas soldering iron and heat shrink etc. which would look messy.

Hi,thank's for the reply,I have the tool's to solder and fit the end of the fakra from the puck but just needed to confirm that it is just two bit's to solder i.e the coax and the centre copper bit,as it will be hidden behind the dash i'm not too bothered about the look's.

If your skillfull it will work but moister is an issue!
I have a similar problem but not a fault, just the wrong lead but felt better to wait for the correct lead since the cost is relatively small compared to an intermittent signal issue!
Good luck.
