IPod Touch - Losing Connection With ArmRest Up
« on: August 30, 2009, 08:58:30 pm »
I've an Ipod Touch... when i connect it in the under the Armrest it works fine... however... if i leave the Armrest up when driving... my Ipod rattles loose and disconnects and i keep having to nudge push it back in...

Its really irritating as i like to have the Armrest up...

It works fine when the Armrest is down because its kept in place then...

Hope someone knows the answer to solving this problem ? :sad1:

It does sound like it has the wrong base. Could be a problem as the car when new comes with all the different bases AFAIK  and there are not available from VW.My touch was a tight fit when used with the 60 ipod.(largest one)

Ahh - i've all these plastics things and i didnt know what they were... i thought they were for Ipods.. but none seem to fit the Ipod Touch...

I've got a plastic bit where its just a square/rectangle... it doesnt seem to slot in anywhere...

My car car came with a packet of different inserts and one fitted perfect with my touch.  :happy2: So the dealer should be able to supply you with the same.  :happy2:

Good luck, i tried 3 dealerships, non would oblige, due to that kit being no longer made.

I think the design changed or something did after i bought my ipod because mine charges as well, and i have been told that most dont.

Rich if you dont get any luck sorting it out. I will bring all of the other fitments that it came with to the next meet for you to try out.  :happy2:

I had the same trouble when I was using my nano as I didn't have any of the inserts.  The dealer told me they didn't supply them and that I should contact Apple.  I bought a bigger Ipod instead.  Ironically i bought a touch which fits a treat in whatever the insert thats in it is but I keep the armrest down.
