edition 30 Daily driver

Hi All,

How many of you own editions and use them daily?

I'm currently using my new toy for work and am seriously considering keeping it locked up in the garage as a weekend shiner only.

Thoughts and opinions please!

I only have one car but I don't use it for work (I'm withing walking distance so no need) so its not worth it for me to buy another car as a daily but many peeps do, all depends on the amount of mileage your doing, as in cost per mile?

You can get a fair few small Eco cars for less than £150 a month brand new. A friend of mine has just bought a Suzuki Splash 1.0, £20 road tax, 60 mpg etc etc. it does what it says on the tin, saves him driving his big, petrol guzzling Audi each day and overall it saves him money, even running the 2 cars.

Only use mine if we are going more than 20 miles or so , around town use the Mini Cooper Diesel . Go alot of places on my bike too . When i do drive the ED30 it still gives me a buzz driving it as it really is something special i think . It is the best car i have owned and never put a foot wrong , but then it has only done 21300 miles  :rolleye:

I find myself using a sub £2k mx5 as a daily drive and my Pirelli lives in a garage. Didn't plan it this way just found myself doing it as the 5 drives superbly and is a real laugh as well as being cheap. Stone chips and parking dings don't matter so I don't have to seek out the best parking spaces at work or worry about all the debris that seems to collect on the A27!

Can't recommend an MX5 highly enough as a second car!

Gone but not forgotten :-)

Daily driver.  Can't see the point spending hard earned money on a car for it to sit in a garage.  The Golf is fast, comfortable, reliable and practical.  A good all-rounder ideal as a daily driver.

Mines a daily, although it pains me to see the mileage creep up, but wha the hell. Another 50,000 and new, bigger engine time  :surprised:
