Rub Noise when rolling down my drive in D
« on: September 14, 2013, 09:58:16 pm »
Hi guys,

Just new to the forum and had a GTi for about 2 weeks,

The car has previously been lowered on Coilovers prior to me buying it, and have noticed a rubbing noise for the last 10 days or so,

Basically when in D in the DSG i notice a rubbing noise but kind of sounds like your tyre crunching under snow almost. It happens gain if Im approaching a red light and i take my foot off the accelerator.

I can only assume it happens all the time but its quite a quiet noise and road noise probably drowns it out.

It sounds like its coming from the Passenger Front wheel.

Visual inspection under the car nothing seems untoward, but have noticed someones post saying it could be something to do with the Xenon Sensor/The fact its lowered and Anti Roll bar/Drop links?

Do i need shortened drop links?

If anyones had anything similar Id love to hear from you.

I need to shut this noise up!

Thanks guys

Wheel Alignment,  Sound interesting, I'm putting some BBS CH's on later in the week so I'll get all 4 aligned.

Does my description of the noise sound like yours did? I explained it to my bother whose a mechanic and he thought I was talking absolute BS. hahah

But thanks for the help I'll keep you posted!

Yes it sounded exactly as you described but mine was only for a few yards in reverse on drivers side
