Plaid with armrest
« on: September 14, 2013, 03:32:23 pm »
After seeing a custom armrest I wanted one  so kept an eye out for some interlagos material, having acquired some I sourced a local upholster him and set to task!

Really chuffed with the result, although not sure it's for everyone .

Looks great, Wouldn't mind doing the same with mine as i have the Sport trim with the grey piping in the centre of the seats
How hard can it be?

Looks like it came out of the factory like that. What was the fitting cost if you don't mind me asking?

I took the part I the armrest out of the car, surprisingly easy! Just removing 'under tray' and release the top part that only clips in. I then sourced a local upholster, who works on retrimming car and left him to it! He charged me a very reasonable £20 and then just clipped back on...

I was hoping to have some material left over, but had to use the center to get the red lines central, and now he is currently playing with making a gaiter, which isn't any fun on a dsg.... I still got resources of more material as have still got the passenger seat that I may strip but yet undecided
