I've been watching a few videos on YouTube on Launch Control.

When i turn my Traction Control off - it flashes...

I see on other videos, such as above, its a constantantly illuminated icon...

Please advise...

This changed for the newer model years - MY07 onwards maybe.  Nothing more sinister than that!

My 08 plate golf stay on when the t/c is off

You need to press and hold for a 2sec's, then the light on the dash should appear, once the light is on the t/c is off
Don't judge me by your ability !

....

I've heard that if you hold down the ESP button for more than 10 seconds it then de-activates all the TC and ABS etc features.

Is this true?

Hmmm interesting. I knew turning off the TC wouldn't turn off all features, so figured the flashing was indicating wheel spin/loss of traction. Didn't know about the 2 or 10 second press. Has anyone tried it?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

My 09 pirelli also flashes when tc is off. My 08 gt sport didn't - was a solid light.
Although my reasons for switching it off usually mean I'm doing things by feel so don't look down at the dash much :)
