ladies and gentlemen I give you my replacement front and rear discs and pads.
According to the boxes and stickers on the discs they have been fitted 'correctly' however the direction of the cross drilling isnt the same front to rear and offends my symmetry fussiness
Before it didnt matter as I only ran front cross drilled

The front vented are 340mm TTS discs (to replace 345mm previously) so it doesnt matter which way round they run (as the airflow is the same fitted either way)
The rears arent vented so doesnt matter either (but were fitted according to stickers)

(out of interest for some discs it does matter based on the internal direction of the vanes, NOT the outer appearance)

What way do other people run?
My preference is to now have the rears swapped to make the drilling match!

The pedal feel is awesome and im really happy thanks to Dave B

pics are looking from passengers side of car, so direction of travel is from right to left (anticlockwise)

Very nice John.

Back on the forum after being away following sale of my old Ed30.

Liked it so much I bought another Ed30 black manual car from a chap who works in F1 and was very impressed by these cars. Done a few bits  to the car as covered on another thread over on the APR zone.

Car has already got a very nice custom GTI Engineering map done for the F1 chap but now looking at Stage 2+ map.

Got  my eyes on a second hand VWR set up at the mo if it comes up for sale.

the fronts look the wrong way to me mate, just been and checked mine in the garage and they are the other way, not sure how much difference it will make. More importantly you CANNOT have different colour calipers front to rear

really Gaz ? wow
The orientation matches the first set that went on when I moved to S3 brakes! the plot thickens.
They are brembo and were marked L/R sided

maybe I should swap the fronts round then  :signLOL: , waiting for DaveB to comment

The rears look on the wrong way round to me. Garage did the same to me and I made them swap them. I imagine it makes zero difference however too much for my ocd.

for this scenario with these discs I dont believe theres a 'wrong' way as neither way effects flow, however it upsets my OCD too.

and Gaz calipers will be painted black to match front. I considered red (ED30 OE) but prefer black.
I had the brakes fitted as I ran out of time before MOT. (its a sad day when i fit my wifes brakes and not my own)
Were I to do all 4 calipers, I actually think the right shade of gold would be my preference...

cool , thanks Gaz, the key point is whether the internal vanes on your discs are directional and dictates a specific orientation  :happy2:

Im still no closer to whether i choose to swap the front or rears lol  :stupid:

(oh and stop showing off )

Those are fitted correctly.

Dont be confused by the drill pattern tho... as they should be "sided" according to there internal vane direction. If the vanes are straight then (im sure dave will correct me) orientation doesnt really matter that much.
