« on: September 15, 2013, 10:39:59 am »
 :confused:hi guys.
im getting confused, ive fitted a couple of 40mm lowering springs to my car(pi and spax) and its not going low as i expected,al i want is to drop my car i think 40mm as people ae saying that  just right on the arch,at the moment im running coilovers but the ride is bad and banging on pot holes and i have to watch all the time.so can anyone give me advice what springs to buy or any pics with golf gti on.

also when im looking on websites  the springs for sale are 20 to 25mm only for the gti, thats not enough.....

The gti is factory lowered by around 20mm usually

Most springs talk of the drop off a std car so a 40mm drop will give 20 on a gti

Eibach do decent spring drops.

If you want lower than it's coil over time. Just cut your bump stops down for better rise quality

Eibach Sportline's give the bigger drop, the Pro kit is similar to OEM drop.
I think H&R springs are a bit more of a drop than Eibach.

More recent pics in my sig with Bilstein B8 dampers.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

The springs dont lower as compared to the coilovers. Try H&R or Eibach Sportlines. Are you wanting springs to lower it so the wheel is on the arch? The springs simply wont. You could also try to dodge pot holes, i look drunk when im driving but i dont care!
