The only problem is vw don't bother painting under the bonnet/bay anymore ...on pre 2005 cars you could polish and it would come up like bodywork ..but now it's flat like they didn't bother with clearcoat..

sent using my own fingers

well thats alot of tripe. I've removed mine on a 2008 car and polish it due to it being a full painted surface. Looksmuch better without it IMO. Lets a little morte intake noise out....  :P
Mines full painted as well  Not polished it yet :signLOL:

Sounds like I need to investigate wether mines painted then! 56 plate eddy.

Not sure if I like the sound of steaming lol.

Any idea how much a new one is from stealers? Any part numbers?

Just looks so scruffy under there hanging down.

Interesting to hear about the steaming - must admit, I removed the insulation on my old mkiv and it did steam off the bonnet in cool conditions. Never connected the two...

Still, much prefer the cleaner look without the insulation, and this was on my list of 'to-do' jobs...
