starter motor is ok,it is roughly draining by 3 amps when i take out fuse f19 the loss is 0.5 amps so it is still draining from somewhere?????

I am down your way on Saturday (airport pickup) if you want and can wait I can put it on vcds and if no joy I can lend you my rcd300 for awhile so you can at least be certain wether it's the rns or not

Terry came to me today and I can add more info

Gateway is not the Problem as his Gateway was a 1K0907530L and  the RNS doesn't go into sleep mode

I tried a newer AF gateway, different RNS and new ignition switch all made no difference to the draw on the RNS

There were several faults with the locking system and one in the steering ignition switch (why I tried a new switch)

I'm thinking it is to do with the locking system why the RNS doesn't shutdown

by locking the car with the remote (switching the bonnet catch before)

then using a Multimeter on mV setting and checking the fuse for the RNS

I tested it on my car and after around 10mins would show 0.00mv

on this car it stayed the same even after nearly half an hour

simple

use a screwdriver to push the lever till it locks

check the dash so that it shows as closed

I then release it with the lever before closing it when finished
