Anyone do anything specific for winter prep?
« on: September 28, 2013, 08:26:10 am »
Morning!

As title suggest - i'm raising ride height, winter wheels, replace battery and putting lashings of hard wax on.

Anyone do anything else specific?

Revo Stage2 - With Linear Throttle
Revo DSG
BCS Turboback Powervalve - This is a must.
ITG Closed Intake.. wooosh

Here to enjoy and help, with a hint of sarcasm, please do not be offended

Yeh good start, I'm doing the exact same with ride height myself as the mrs is due in January and want to five myself as much clearance as possible! Maybe Waxoyl your underchassis if you get the chance.

I also carry a holdall with spares, little shovel/mats/bit carpet, some clothing, small sleeping bag, wind up torch and so on. People may mock but a few years back I nearly had to sleep on the A74M as the weather was horrendous and traffic got stuck.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Anyone who mocks you for being very prepared is a tool. I've had to rescue so many people from different situations just because they failed to recognize a hazard/problem or didn't suitably prepare for one. I used to live in the Highlands so always carried survival equipment in the car, thankfully I never had to use it.

Swap to rubber floor mats
Is this not a little dangerous? Wet sole slipping off the brake pedal?

My thoughts too, personally avoid rubber mats like the plague! :scared:

Rain x all the windows

So it can last 2 weeks tops?

Use a proper glass sealant.

you can carry basically a tent and supplies for 3 days but depends how far you want to go... I'm not doing anything particular to be honest. No need. I have breakdown recovery and there is water, oil and coolant in the car. If it's cold I go out in ample clothing to remain warm so realistically there's nothing I need to take.
