gti seat help
« on: September 28, 2013, 05:00:01 pm »
hi ,
I own a mk 5 gt tdi,it has leather gti seats fitted (by previous owner).
i was wondering if someone could help me with how to get the electric lumber support to work,or is this not possible.
my car is a 04 plate
I do have vcds ,but unsure if that would be the only item needed to get this working, ive looked under the drivers seat and all the wiring seems right,
could someone shed some light on this

best regards and thanks in advance

ps great forum by the way
 glad to be here

VCDS isn't needed for lumbar support, are you sure he retrofitted the seat wiring loom or is there a big rectangular plug free underneath?

If all been done properly, check the fuse. I think lumbar just needs a 12v and earth to work but I don't have a pinout to tell you what wire's what
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

IIRC lumbar only needs power and a ground. A member on here completed this successfully and posted a thread with some useful pictures, might be worth a search.

Try this post http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,38242.msg456475.html#msg456475,

If I recall from doing it the red/white was power. I would double check your fuse again too.
