...and then time for bigger breaks, I instantly noticed they are not up to scratch with the extra power.

The only reason im considering changing wheels is due to the fact i dont want to get them damaged... they will be worth a fortune in years to come

....I was with you until I read that bit ^!

Wouldn't you be just a little bit worried about damaging wheels which cost you £3.5k?
Hmm... ill keep them then

Does everyone agree that getting Spaces ( 5 or 10mm ? ) is a good idea ?

Only if they are centered and good quality.
I had 10mm centered spacers on the rear. It looked nice and was just fine. Had to take them off because of new alloys (OZ Alleggerita).

No Golf anymore.
Enjoyed the last five years of ownership of Mk5 & 6 GTIs.
Plus an excellent forum for knowledge and new ways to deplete the bank account.
Thank You Everyone.

....It's more for the extra feedback and feel which a lighter weight wheel gives you (I'm told and am soon to find out for myself).

Really makes me chuckle when people want wheels only for eye-candy
