Retrofitting newer dash and heater controls.
« on: September 28, 2013, 07:33:26 am »
Morning all.
This isn't strictly a mk5 question but is a similar frame so thought the likes of luka or Eddie nl could offer their advice.
I looking at a scirocco tdi that's got the older options. Such asmk5 multi function steering wheel, highline dash and the 3 dial heater controls.
I'm wondering how difficult it is to fit the mk 6 heater controls and the led dashboard. I know the mk 6 mulifuntion wheel isn't a hard thing to fit as my mk5 had that done.

Any help would be great as I'm going to look at it tomorrow

Climate panel will be easy

New panel, change one wire over and new trim

To change to the newer Highline you will need a adaptor for the wiring and new keys to be coded

Ok cool.
Someone said it would be a out a £600 job to do. Did put me off. But t an I think I can live with.
Any idea if all the dashboards work or is there a particular part Buber or new that don't fit?
Is the fitting it it something you could do yourself or is it a 'real' pro job?
