i jus bought a 56 golf gti and am looking to upgrade it as i was a bit dissapointed with how quick it is want to know some reasonably priced engine upgrades. i will b re mapping and poss intake. like the idea of the dump valve noise aswell but have heard

you need to click new topic not new poll when creating a thread.


IMO dump valves sound chavvy and dont fit the look of any VW.

get your car to a good tuner who will check you car before mapping it, after the stage 1 map your car will be transformed.

As above, leave the dumb values to the Scooby boys. Your GTI uses a Diverter Valve, not a Dump Valve.

Have a look around on the site and you'll find everything you want to know re modifications, cheap or otherwise.

Might be worth changing your DV for a revision G as the earlier ones are know to split and a likely cause if you are down on power. Do a search loads of info.
