Edition 30 Engine Oil
« on: October 04, 2013, 01:04:59 pm »
Hi All,

Just wondering what oil people are using? Mines gonna be due a change soon and am thinking of going down the performance route with:

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60169-silkolene-pro-s-5w-30-ester-synthetic-oil-for-high-performance-engines.aspx

Many people using this? Or do most people just stick to a good 507.00 oil?

Ta for the input!!

Can't argue with any of that.

OP, If yours is a modded Eddy, use the 5W 40. :happy2:

I would always switch to 5w40 on these cars now. The millers I what I use on nearly every car that comes in for service.   It really shown how great it is by the lack of follower wear on all the cars that are running it.

Thanks bud, its good to hear this from someone doing it on a daily basis! Can I ask why you are switching it up to 5w40?

Anybody use 0w 40 ?

I was wondering this; why people would move the upper limit only to not move the lower limit... :popcornsoda:

If it turned as cold here as Alaska in winter then a 0W weighted oil would become a must.
Without traction power is nothing!

I've seen the occasional -20C here, but more often than not it's not past -10C... so 5w should be fine I guess.
