Are any of the other bits availbe?  And how much?

One of the other posts said that OEM wasn't very good.

Also where are you?  Can possibly collect and pick your brains as to installing them...

What my pic is showing is the new parts (now fitted on my car) alongside the stock parts. I took the pic to show people a comparison.

The only parts I may be willing to consider selling are the stock parts but I'm slightly inclined to keep the hoses as emergency spares as SAMCO take so long to get.

I wouldn't be too hasty to splash out on the pipe Robin displays as for one they all rely on you taking the O seals from your current setup to fit to them and secondly they connect in much the same manner as the OEM ones.

Don't get me wrong they have their place, I ran the Neuspeed outlet pipe for a while with some good results but it's a lot of dollar to be splashing out in one hit.

Generally I think that most Neuspeed products don't deliver much extra. However, for whatever little it's worth, the SAMCO ally connections are top notch and so is the quality of their silicone hose construction.

I didn't have any logging done but the engine did feel as if it was freer revving after the installation. Placebo?

Anyway, you know how much I don't mind splashing out money. There's no point me having regrets and I'm glad of the SAMCO bits.

....Well, I didn't find much of an improvement after fitting these particular Neuspeed components on my particular car, other than a slightly freer revving engine as I said - Certainly not the degree of improvement that their blurb suggested. Quite expensive too. But at least I am confident my boost hoses are more durable.

Neuspeed stuff might be ok in terms of quality but personally I would always also check what other brands offer the same before buying in the future. Our purchasing decisions all come down to our individual experiences.

....Which is why I upgraded all my turbo piping as a precautionary measure. VW, and others, don't manufacture their cars to accommodate aftermarket tuning.

....Yes, I've been told the same - Approx +40% headroom - Not an exact science though. I guess it's a major contributor to that reputation of strong build. However, it won't be applied to every single one of the zillion components which VW use in manufacturing a car.

Regarding the turbo piping, what I have done will doubtless have increased the tolerance headroom waaaay beyond any +40% (I'm running between 240-270bhp according to which rolling-road), but I happened to get offered some SAMCO hoses and then decided I may as well add the Neuspeed Turbo Charge and Discharge pipes. It was one of those totally unplanned mods - Rather random.

Just to update
had the engine cover off today and no sign of a leek anywhere
don't really know what to look for water/oil or signs of.
Can't see anything at all to be a worry.
But the front left bracket for the cover was nearly off bolt nearly out,
and only one screw in the air intake at the front.
Less and less impressed with dealer mechanics.

Going to post else where, but any suggestions for a indie up north?

I think the leak in question would be low down on the drivers side near the wheel arch.  Visible from underneath.

I think so. Although expensive (and the Forge are probably just as good if they are lined), the SAMCO hoses are top-notch quality construction. Even when I ran over something sharp and a lower hose was cut it didn't leak. A remapped car will be putting through more pressure and although I haven't heard of splits/failures on the OEM Mk5 GTI's turbo hoses it was apparently quite common on the modded Mk4's.

If you fit some, go for stainless steel jubilee clips - No need to spoil a ship for the sake of a halfpenny worth of tar.

They certainly give peace of mind and extended life. The OEM appear somewhat naff by comparison. Not cheap though.  :happy2:

Did I miss where you sourced yours from?  Samco Direct? Cost?  I think Awesome do the Forge turbo hoses but I will compare reviews and prices  :happy2:
