What's the best wax to keep the winter at bay. In after something that will last all winter with maybe a couple of top ups with a qd or quick wax

I've always favoured something like Collinite 476s or Fk1000P. A few coats of either will do and both seem to last 3-4 months without top up.

Yep collinite 476s or autoglym HD wax both super durable winter waxes , 2 coats of zymol titanium is also good bit pricey though

I have used Nanolex Washcoat which is a touchlessly applied sealant.
Think about it physically nothing you can spray on will give you any serious levels of durability.
I would only use them as an easy-to-use top up to existing protection .

Collinite 476s or fk1000p are your best options for cost. I personally prefer colli.

Well, going on what you guys have suggested I've ordered some collinite.
Just need to get my car into a decent enough state of cleanliness to get it put on.

Do people seal and then wax on top or just use either or?

You can use both.
If you use both use the sealant first.

Not really much point IMO. It's meant to be an extra sacrificial layer but TBH apart from the first year I got into detailing, I've never bothered. Sealants will be more durable than waxes especially over winter.

 I was going to come on here and recommend collinite but it looks like everyone else has the same opinion which is reassuring!

I'm not much of an expert but be sure to apply it in very thin layers, the method I used was a slightly dampened foam applicator to apply it and a couple of swipes over the wax per half a panel. I applied one coat then another coat a week later after I washed it again :)

Very much depends what wax or sealant you use.

Some waxes can be 1 month of durability and some 6.
I wouldn't call C1, Cquartz etc a sealant as such. They are coatings I geuss

The first time I used collinite, I applied it to the whole car and waited for 30 mins. Became a complete pig to remove. Do 1-2 panels at a time.

Yeah I did that with Auto Finesse Soul

What an arse that became.
I had use IPA (ended up using 1L of Auto Finesse Crystal which is about 10% IPA) to get it off as it had literally baked on. What an idiotic move to make. That being said you can remove baked on Collinite quite easily if you just let the towel brush over the surface, once you break the top layer the rest will come off easy.
Soul was literally ground into the paint. The most difficult to use LSP I've ever touched.

Hardly known for it's intense durability
Nice wax but pricey..
