Lowering springs help - mk5 golf gti

Hi all

I have a mk5 golf gti 55 plate which is to my knowledge completely standard apart from the Revo stage 1 remap I had done. The allows are the standard 18" monza's

I want to lower the car just to the point where the tire reaches the arch, i'm not looking for the tire to be tucked under the arch, just want it to sit a little nicer :)

They're meant to be 20mm front and back, which i think will be enough to make it sit how i want however they also do a 45mm at the front and 30mm at the rear which i assume will tuck under the arch

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or any info on whether 20mm front and back will be enough for what i've described on a stock mk5 golf gti?

The sportlines are one kit.

They lower 55/45 from STOCK (SE) ride height
As a GTI is already about 25mm lower than an SE they will sit 20mm further lower still.

Demon tweeks show different model numbers for the 2 kits which confuses things, the 20mm front & rear is EIBE20-85-014-01-22 where as the other set 45 front and 30 rear shows EIBE20-85-014-02-22

The 45 front and 30 rear ones does say in the description - PLEASE NOTE: GTi Models Only Lower 20-25mm Front / 20mm Rear

I guess i should just order the 45/30mm ones

Buy whatever you get from DPM Performance.

They will advise you of the exact kit you need (the axle loadings are probably different hence the differences). The Sportlines will all lower their relevant applications the same. They will also beat any price you can get anywhere else and are much better with their customer service than DemonTweaks.

You'll notice if you look at their available lowering springs the car listing is different.
The cars which are already lower (GTI, 1.4 TSI 170s, etc) will lower 25/20mm and the SE's and S's which are higher will lower the full 50/35.

If you check the part number, as I explained, they are the same springs. Just that people don't understand lowering is listed from STOCK (being the standard ride height of the standard version of the car) most of the time.

Springs arrived, they'll be getting fitted this coming Sunday if the weather holds out!

I dont know if your car is a Manual or DSG, but...

Part Number: E20-85-014-01-22 is for a Manual car

Part Number: E20-85-014-02-22 is for DSG car

Mine is a manual

Why would the springs be different between manual & dsg, axle load?

It's just weight rating they both fit fine and will sit equally and drive identically.
