B5 RS4 kit. It used to stop me dead if you even brushed passed the pedal, thinking back it was probably to much braking for my 270BHP but probably about right for all you BHP whores.  :signLOL:
it comes with a few slight problems to work around but it can definitely be described as a big brake kit.

If i had gone back to an to A 2.0tfsi platform this is 100% what i would have put on it!!

Manufactured in China, no big secret, the box it comes in is covered in chinese writing, its also very evident that the box has never been opened within the UK.

Nick Vaughn is a lifelong forge fan and fitted them to his 8L Track S3, he sort of regrets it lets say....Forge superb engineering for their mainstream products but pads and discs need to be expensive and last or cheap and disposable, soon as you start mixing up the sentences its either very good or very bad.

if you dont want to buy branded quality stuff, then you might as well not bother and spend it on suspension or more engine goodness or a new map. Alternatively run something with cheapy cheap cheap consumables and anticipate swapping them out more frequently.

Nicks setup lasted 3 laps...... £1000 down the crapper

In addition anything over 343mm (13.5") needs to have some element of float if you're going to get them hot, thats BASIC brake tech if the product exceeds that size and is bolted together its all show and no stop and is designed to relieve you of your money and not to stop well

from other forum , if any good:

brakes per side inc disk/caliper/carrier
tt 312mm 14.5kg
tts 340mm 20kg
s3/r32 345mm 21.4kg
ttrs 370mm 17kg
rs6 390mm 21.5kg
b7 RS4 8pot caliper with ttrs 370 disks 17.5kg
RS4 (B7) 8 pot Calipers , Pagid Blue RS4-2 Pads, AP Racing Directional 362mmx32mm drilled rotors, AP racing Bells 14kg

The single piston r32/cupra setup is a bit of a joke with the weight isn't it.
Definitely agree with that looking at the weight of the others

Yes they are quite heavy.

At the end of the day it all depends on what you want but I'm guessing (strong guess... i.e. know)  that for 95%+ of people on this forum the R32 345mm setup would be adequate for their useage... unless you just have to have "bigger/better/shinier" just for the hell of it.

Yes they are heavy... yes they are single piston... yes the discs are solid.... but in terms of cost vs performance, you wont find a better kit.

I still don't know what happened to the Cupra R brakes from the 1.8T.. They were 4 pots and no doubt A LOT lighter with similar braking power... Why did VAG decide on the single pistons over those, or at least an evolution of them... Cost? Contracts?

VAG never fitted multi piston calipers on their MK5 platform except TTRS - RS3.
But they sell Brembo 4 pot calipers with 312x25 discs on Ibiza Cupra R... Seat is considered to be the sportiest of the brands so they get all the fancy brakes

I know dude.  But they should share more of the parts bin, Christ knows the Cupra wouldn't exist without Audi parts.  Even the newer cupra moved away from the 4 pots to the heavy single piston... :rolleye:

Those Leon mk2 330x28mm replacement discs for the brembo four pots are special order and nearly £500.

I wouldn't put those in the cheap consumable category. AP Supercopa rotors we use on the Miltek car are cheaper

I'd be scared to track them and that's the point, cheap with no major risk or expensive enough they can cope that would be my approach to new brakes.

Or if its a show pony then it doesn't really matter I guess
