Hello, new to VW.
« on: October 16, 2013, 09:50:30 pm »
Hi, I have just bought an 06 golf. It has edition 30 wheels and is lowered slightly. I doubt I will mod it much, I'm too old for all that now. Lol. I live in Fife and if the rain ever stops, I will post some pics.

The car is silver with black ED30 alloys and darkened windows. Bought it Sunday, drove to work and left it there as had to use the van. All excited to go and collect it on Wednesday. The only problem so far is a rip in the seat bolster leather stitches. Is there anything I should check in particular to check for under bonnet wise? Common boost leaks/weak points?

It only took me 5 months to get pics. I washed it, drove 15 miles and it looked like this. Lol

A good looking car - still happy with it?  I won't answer your questions from October - a quick search on here will solve any problems.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

Completely happy. Seems like a great all rounder and very subtle.
I was very close to buying a megane R26 which in truth, would run rings around my golf. However, it was rattly, obviously ugly, and since I don't live on a racetrack may have been a better car only on the right road in the right  conditions. I always have the wifes Clio 197 for when I want to attack a B road!

Need new discs and pads next. Or better calipers. Also my tyres are super budget, I think eagle f1s are calling.

I hope that is not badge snobbery! Lol.
Golf does feel better put together than the R26. I really do live my car
