That's a small but very effective mod - A great improvement in the overall frontal styling. Makes the car look lower at the front and is better for it. IMO.  :happy2:

Thanks RR - couldn't agree more, and like you mentioned with your rear bumper flowing into the side skirts, this has the same effect at the front

....I'm obviously not the only bod with a designer's brain here  :happy2: - That's right, once you colour code the side skirts you then see what you need to do to the front and back as well in order to achieve styling continuity. I would probably have gone for the Ed30 front splitter (although what you have done is a cheaper and very effective solution) if the Ed30 had existed back then, so I went for the OSIR splitter.

Looking good ;)

On a slightly random note , I want to get by rear bumper colour coded , to save looking like an idiot when talking to body/paint shops , what would i need to ask for to get a proper job done ?

.
I don't quite get it: You pay £180 to get the exhaust trim part of a rear bumper painted black? Surely it would cost considerably less to have your own part painted and would give you a closer paint match if done by a professional bodyshop, and they'd fit it. A good bodyshop would also give you a courtesy car while they do the job and let it cure 24hrs.

i disagree i just took mine to get a quote and was quoted £200. That was after he wined about how much work it was and how the plastic wasnt ment to be painted so the paint might fall off  :scared:

A decent bodyshop should know what they are doing,  but essentially it needs to be at least high build primer (some people get the plastic smoothed first - mine wasnt), then that is smoothed before paint coats and top laquers etc.

The colour coded side skirts on my GTI are an awful job to be honest. Looks like they were painted on the car! Is it possible to even get them looking factory fit or will I have to get some genuine R32/ED30 skirts? I hate the textured finish behind them.

Is £150-£180 still the going price to get this done or has it gone up?

With that company it has gone up, as it is a lot of work to prime and paint - but still well worth it!

Looks mint, I need a new splitter after my wife mangled mine off the kerb, and this company is only 30 mins away so might see if I can get anything off for pick up.
