« on: October 24, 2013, 06:56:27 pm »
My ed30 came with a year's warranty as I bought it from vw but had it booked in to get dsg checked as it's like a kangaroo in 2nd, I need a new mechatronics unit and are waiting on a decision from vw how long should it take I'd have thought I would have got a call today but nothing and surly they will replace it??

what year is your car? iirc MY2008 cars are part of a recall anyway because of dodgy mechatronics units. they should replace it provided the car has had it's DSG serviced at the correct intervals.

So have VW diagnosed the car and  told you that you need a new mechs unit? I'd expect them to replace it under warranty if the car is still under warranty. Maybe give them a ring to chase things up if they are not getting back to you.

Just get more arsey with it mate, they have to replace it as its under warranty!

Is that true about a recall being done on MY2008 Mechatronic units though? As that'd be something I'd want to know about if it's true!
