RNS510 specs and alternatives.

Morning all,

Im looking for a new head unit to replace my RCD300. I would love an RNS510, but l am unsure of the spec it comes with. Basically l have a list of needs/wants and lm looking for advice as to which head unit would best suit my needs.

My new headunit must have Bluetooth and ipod/iphone charging.
Sat Nav and DAB would be nice.

Any suggestions or reccomendations?

Rns a/b/early c = non led screen, 30gb hard drive and slower processor

Rns late c/d upto p = led screen, bigger hard drive and faster processor

Thanks for this. Am l right in thinking l would need to buy seperate bits to enable bluetooth and ipod/iphone connectivity and charging?

And without wanting to Hijack your thread but I think its related.

Can the newer units have the firmware loaded to stop battery drain?

Bluetooth uses a seperate module. Some modules allow streaming of music via bluetooth. Iv made an ipod dock in my ash tray which plugs into the front 12v supply, the lid closes when not in use

Cheers!  Trouble is that's extra cost and I'm trying to use the excuse the Firmware update on the RNS is more sense than the RCD510 (which can't be changed by firmware I believe) with Gateway etc.  If I need to get a gateway its got to be RCD not an RNS :(
