Edition 30....Mapping DSG together with Tuning MAP
« on: August 10, 2015, 09:58:24 pm »
Hi Everyone

Now Keith from APR has moved on from the UK and Awesome GTI were unable to clarify I need to approach yourselves over some technical questions regarding my car.

I have previously had APR Stage 2 tunes on 2 previous Edition 30 Golfs but both were manual. My first map was a a stage 1 then stage 1 FP map which pretty good.

My new wheels has the DSG box which has mostly been good. There has been much debate over DSG mapping and I know a few tuners in the UK are offering DSG remaps with their stage 1 tune or stage 2 on my particular model.

What I need to know is it necessary? Is there a torque limit on the Edition 30 DSG gearbox as if so there wouldn't be much point if it holds back a performance map upgrade. There seems to be an oppinion they are torque limited??

Another thing is that I will probably track the car dependant on your advice as I may head to the manual car if it's not a great track set up being a DSG car.

I had previously had APR Stage 1 and stage 1 HPFP tune......do you do this for my car with DSG and what are the figures. I may go Stage 2+ in the future but I need to sort chassis and brakes out first.

I can't remember what the figures are for a APR Stage 1 FP map and am wondering whether to go to REVO or a custom map. I don't want the huge expense of going straight to stage 2+ at this moment and want to concentrate on chassis and brakes.

Much appreciated

Ian
Pearl Black Edition 30 3 Door. DSG. (3rd Edition 30)
Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

Hi mate,
Congrats on getting your dsg ed30.

I think you'll find the dsg mapping compliments the motor map.

When you get your brakes up to spec i'm certain R-Tech will be able to work wonders on your car.

I'm sure dsg (and the like) is the future for fast road cars...F1 (the pinnacle of motor racing) has happily resigned the clutch pedal to the automotive rubbish dump.

Thanks.
