well, I got my car mapped down at edition, love it. however the chap from revo who did it told me that a fault code came up before he put the map on, I also have a forge blow-off spacer fitted, my second service is almost due and I just want to know if I need to remove the blow-off spacer in order to avoid any issues with warranty, or will it be fine?

As far as I know blow-off valves don't do the 2.0T FSI's turbo system any favours so unless you really want one, it's probably wiser to take it off.

As far as I know blow-off valves don't do the 2.0T FSI's turbo system any favours so unless you really want one, it's probably wiser to take it off.

....I read it somewhere - Doubtless on a car forum (it's all I ever read!) but IIRC it was said by someone who explained why and seemed to know his stuff. Something about the potential for leaks, albeit very small and more about decreasing efficiency.

I'm not 100% sure and that's why I'm hesitant and wrote "as far as I know".

However, Forge offer one so presumably it's been fully tested etc.

Our cars use load based engine management systems that meter the amount of incoming air and if its vented to atmosphere, the ecu makes all of its calculations regarding how to operate the engine as though that air was still in the system as its designed to be.

....Sorry if I'm being thick, Keith, but does that then mean that the ECU behaves as if there was no whooshy spacer? Or that it's smart and compensates accordingly for a spacer?

i was always led to believe that your supposed to use a recirculating rather than an atmospheric too with the FSi

....That's right. But Forge offer an additional component called a spacer and which makes whooooshy noises - That's all it does.
