coil pack recall
« on: November 01, 2013, 12:12:57 pm »
Just had a call off VW saying there is a recall on my car for the coil packs. I replaced these about 6 months ago due to them failing, will they still change them or not? I mentioned this too her and she said bring it and we will have a look anyway. Got a rattle coming from the engine bay when i set off so want to go anyway to see if they can have a quick look at that. Touching cloth over the possibility of it being the mechatronics.

If you replaced the coil packs recently then VW will not change out those. The coil pack replacement only applies to certain early versions.

How can I check if my car is on the recall list? Will I need to contact VW or is there an online way to check?

Did mine two days ago. Just give your local vw dealer a call and tell them about the recall. They will check the system for any recalls. My car is a 2007 Gti and the only recall on the system was the coilpack change. They will do it for you unless its already been in as part of the recall or once they start working on it and see its been changed.
