Can't get smooth gear changes
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:18:57 am »
Iv had plenty of cars and never had a problem changing gears smoothly, now have an edition 30 which will not go into gear smoothly without jerking, mainly 1st and 2nd. Only time Iv had it smooth is when I come off the clutch very slowly. These cars are meant to be driven fast so don't know what's up with the car! Anybody any ideas?

Presume it is manual.
Only thing controlling the clutch is you ;)

If the DMF is knackered it can be difficult to drive smoothy too. Do you get any knocking noises as the clutch bites?

No noises when changing gears, just very jerky like you would get with a bad gear change. Iv had over 10 different manual cars and never had a problem. Just thought it could be mechanical, maybe engine mounts or clutch related.
