Shortened plates

Hi there,

I was wondering what the law on short plates is, I'm guessing there legal aslong as the spacing is all correct could anyone shed a light on the laws please

I run a cut down plate on my car but aslong as you have a 11mm border it's legal.

This gives you all the sizes you need to know...

Yeap, exactly as mentioned. As long as you've the 11mm border, also between the letters/numbers and all the correct spacing and the letters/numbers are the correct size and font and your displaying the BS mark then all good.

Cool thanks chaps, I have a 5 digit plate as per user name, any recommendations on where to got shortened plates made up?

No laws on short plates as long as spacing correct (as per said above), My mum has a shortened 4 digit plate and my dad has a shortened 3 digit plate, they ahve been on their various cars for upwards of 35 years with no issues from the law  :happy2:
