Most recent quote is £460 with 7 years NCB, 3pts (from 04) and that has £350 Excess from Brentacre,

Greenlight was imilar cost so may chuch the UK MKiv's discount thing in there as i am a member which would take it down further as their excess was £250,

Cheers,

R

Well, i'm probably paying the most :sad1:

Being 18, im paying £2000 premium and £2500 excess

Hoping this should go down when i reach 19 !!!!!!!!!!!

You obviously live well away from London! When I was your age insuring my 1.4 ibiza cost me 2800 for the year.

Now 20 with 2yrs ncb paying 2700 on the cupra.

not wanting to hijack thid page I wouldn't mind some insurance advise.

I have just been quoted by Adrian Fux £1050 for fully comp insurance on a 58 pirelli Revo Stage 1, I m 30 with 8yrs no claims and fully clean? The chap seemed to belive that this was a very good deal and could not be beaten?

From looking at this post and others regarding insurance this seems pretty steep? I will try greenlight in the morning.

He also sais that some of the insurance companies would not touch it becasue te car was not modified enough?

Cheers

What are the first set of letters and numbers. I will see what your postcode is rated at by insurance companies.

Going by june 2008 data its rated as being B which is quite good. Might be worthwhile trying greenlight and brentcare, as there is a 28 year old guy round my way who pays 800 fully comp on his brand new focus rs and our area is at f.

A being low risk, F being high risk.

my excess is around £500, qute alot I know but my charge for all mod's declared (26yo, 6pts now 3 yrs old) on-street parking in clapham, south london is £580 a year!

renewal is up soon so will soon see if they are still competitive.

though young drivers with performance cars, greenlight seems the most competitive  :happy2:
