Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2's, think they're £100 from Camskill and are a really good tyre!

after looking on ebay, there are quite a fair good sets that only parts worn with 6+ mil on them for cheap and have very good feedback, may go down that route.

Can't Beat a Vredestein Sessanta.

Very very good in the dry, AMAZING in the wet and work very well for a summer tyre in the snow.

£75 a corner in 17s from Camskill
As you don't post tyre size (WHY??? as 18s cost more obviously..) I will assume that's what you have ;)

I got 4 Pirelli P Zero Nero's in 215/40/18 for my new wheels for about £150 part worn!

They were from 2 different sellers but both sets have 7mm on them... This might not be to everyone's taste and obviously isn't the standard size for 18" on a mk5 but if you now what your looking at then its a good way to get cheap good quality tyres.

I've had Falkens & now on Nankangs - surprising enough the Nankangs are actually alright. Not found their limit yet!!! Paid £54 a tyre (215/45/18's)

I'd avoid the 18's as these get very noisy once you wear past 50% tread.
Have had 2 sets of these and had enough.

Have gone onto Goodyear Eagle f1 Asym 2's and these are much better and a lot quieter. They offer equal grip to the Vreds in all conditions.

As your in bradford west yorks, check out clickontyres in shipley, you'll get goodyear eagle f1's fitted at approx £114 a corner and im sure there is still a fuel voucher offer on which will compensate the cost.   :happy2:

http://www.clickontyres.co.uk/buy-tyres-online/?ct-tyre-finder-width=225&ct-tyre-finder-profile=40&ct-tyre-finder-diameter=18&ct-tyre-finder-speed=Y#refine=true&page_ids=86,&price_min=60&sizes=225-40-18-Y&rows=12

prices plus fitting, so £113.78 a corner, then £40 fuel voucher for two 18" tyres, so about the same as fitting part worns.  :drinking:

Ross, for your everyday 225/40/18 tyres?

To run during both the Summer and Winter look at the Goodyear Eagle F1 2's £105. Peeps keep telling me to get the Michelin Pilot Super Sport £120 although these are only available at Load Rating 88 at the moment and are more Summer tyres I'm led to believe.

For Winters have a look at the Nokian WRG2's £128 or Goodyear Ultragrip 8 £135.

Get them from one of the below (click the site name) Pretty much all the same and they all do a "we can match any price" thingy too so look at getting them from......

Can get the Nokian WR D3 for £118 delivered or the Goodyear UG8P for £128 delivered... my preference is the Goodyears (having used the Performance 2 versions for two winters), as the Nokians seem to have artificial reviews atm.
