Anyone know about MTB's?
« on: November 08, 2013, 01:31:11 pm »
LOL, bought some cheap Fox Float's for my old Orange but the steerer has been cut down to 180mm and is too short, there's about 1 inch showing with all spacers removed :(

Is it unsafe to use:

Any suggestions? :happy2:

They are safe enough.  I've welded extensions on before.  Contact Fox as sometimes the steerers can be replaced fairly cheaply.

Thanks mate, it's not going to be used for extreme DH, mostly XC'ing but it'd be nice if I don't face plant due to a snapped headset bolt / steerer.  I've contacted Fox, probably need steerer/crown/stanchion :(

Might grab an extension see how it goes. :scared:

Speak to Rob at Mojo 01633615815 he should be able to sort something for you? great bloke and bent over backwards when I upgraded my internals on my 32 talas forks.

Other than that, has Alex said a piece can be welded on that will be has strong has the original steerer.
