Advice regarding cambelt

Would you get your cambelt changed even though your service book says it was done 10k ago and you also had proof from the garage which did it? (I got them to send me a invoice, vw dealer)

For some reason I have been worried that it could've of been tampered with before I bought it (bad paranoia) and have been thinking about getting it done anyway but I dont want to waste £400!

So what would you do?

If the 10k was approaching four years ago, then it'll be due anyway.

And if you are that worried about it, I feel you already know the answer...change it for peace of mind.

it was a year and a half ago.

Yeah I guess I should really If I am worried! but deep down I know its a waste of money lol.

I might plan it into next year prehaps, as the vw warranty on the cambelt change will be finished then anyway.

When I bought the car I had to return it back to the trader to get some issues fixed (which didn't go too smoothly)

so I have developed paranoia about my car  :signLOL: and I want to make sure everything is perfect, but I know I am most likely wasting my money getting my cambelt done "again" haha!

I would love to do it my self but I'am not skilled enough :(

I think as I have had confirmation from VW them selfs that they actually did do the cambelt last year I think I will hold off until next year when their 2 year warranty expires for the job and than get it done again.

I'm tempted but want to read up A LOT before doing it.  Mine's done about 30k and 2 years old.

Feck it, get a garage to do that. :party:  How much is the Cam belt kit anyway, i.e. how much do we save to DIY it?
