Changing Canbus Gateway the easy way
« on: November 05, 2013, 11:42:26 am »
Hi all.

Ive changed a canbus gateway before and it is a pain in the rear end to get to!

I remember reading a thread somewhere that the gateway can be accessed from near the wiper motor and is much more easier to access.

Does anyone know where I can find that guide?

ALSO

when recoding it with VCDS, do I just need to tick the boxes in the installation list or open each controller and duplicate every single box from my old canbus?

Been a while and I forgot lol

I've got it done to about 10 minutes now. Did three over the weekend and apart from some cuts on my hand i find the best approach is to go in from behind the coin tray.

Hi buddy

I had a look at that link but its a different one which showed for an 05 that it can be accessed from the engine bay near the wiper motor.

Wow! Took me 20 minutes to take out the gateway today! The last time I did it and it took hours!

Took the driver seat out so I can lie down straight in the car and look up the clutch pedal.

All coded up and hopefully no more battery drain.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
