carbon intake help

just bought a carbon fibre intake off ebay, from the us (went off a link i found in some previous posts).  am i right i thinking it should have a foam filter with it? all i got was the carbon box and a connecting pipe!! also are these easy enough to fit for a total novice???

It depends on whether it was second hand and who makes it.

The carbonio intake when new comes with a pipercross filter that is a direct replacement for the OEM one.

Second hand - it may not have been in with the sale!

If you want an uprated filter to go with it both ITG and Pipercross make flat panel filters to replace the original one. Alternatively you can fit the intake and keep the original panel filter in place. You will just lose a little power (minimal) as the OEM one isn't quite as free flowing as the aftermarket ones. :happy2:

can someone show me how to fit one, I got a carbon fibre intake fitted the weekend, but dont know how to fit the filter.

The filter is in the engine cover so you need to remove this and then undo the screws on the bottom of the cover.
