Mini update. Slowly sorting out bits n bobs from previous owners mad obsession with touch up pen paint.

Mirrors was today's topic. I asked for a red pin stripe for more of a personal touch. Still 50/50 if I like it or not.

Right, a mini update is needed.

Did a major service since I haven't had the chance to do so since owning the car. All parts used are genuine from my local TPS. Also bought a cam belt and water pump kit too.
While doing the cam belt kit etc, we noticed the parts on the car wasn't genuine so in the past 4 years from previous owner, Its had a belt change...but the watch pump hadn't! So so so lucky my engine didn't give up. Spark plugs looked sorry for themselves so probs been there since factory. Oil was rubbish coming out. The fuel filter was a Euro Car Parts special, it was a 6.4 bar pressure and not the 6.8 bar for a genuine filter!

Ever since the service, my car feels completely different and wants to rev to 6k without running flat at 5k. So happy with the results...Im a strong fan of using the proper parts to do the job right!

Also bought myself some goodies from LVS racing again, also Revo too.

- Forge Quick Shift
- Revo PCV delete kit

Sticker I got made up for the rear quarters

Finally its not to everyone's taste. But while I was in New Zealand recently for some time. I kept seeing Golfs with a bonnet shield fitted. I liked the look and went to search for one. Took some time but I managed to get one shipped over from New Zealand :D Like I said, not to everyone's taste, better than a bonnet bra tho!

Mini Update.

Revo Stage 1, got it done at Ed38 by LVS Racing.

Bought some new genuine GTI car mats as my normal ones was stained from previous owner and the drivers mat had a hole worn through.

de-badged the boot too...looks much better

I really like the wing mirror red, works on the blue nicely too.

Nice touch, endless time for that kind of OEM+ logic  :happy2:

Looks really well that mate, great colour.

Sits really well on those springs and spacers, I might have to look into those myself.

Where did you get those mats from?

How much were the mats ? Are they the same for the ED30 ?

LVS deal at ED38 was 25% off wasn't it ? Well worth it. Whats the predicted power up to now ? 260 ?

Um think the mats was £53 from TPS. We didn't see any other mats with GTI written on them. So I guess they are the same?

LVS deal yes, I've bought all my parts from them and thought it was only fair they mapped it. 260 I would of thought, no idea what the induction kit gives and running on V-Power Nitro either. As the figures on Revo are from 95ron fuel I think and just a remap only. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Haven't updated this thread for awhile. Just a little update, fitted some Powerflex goodies before Christmas. All parts was bought from @LVS Racing

Review. My opinion they are awesome over standard. The car doesn't pull around when road surfaces are uneven. Accelerating is nicer by not bogging down as much either. Highly rate this product.

I can get higher on motorways, highest was 39.7 I think. I assumed you emailed me earlier? Haven't had chance to reply but my opinion on the anti lift is good. I drive my car hard most days on B roads and country lanes. I could tell a difference in the way the car handles. Can't remember what I paid for the kit, but labour was only a £20 as I did my gearbox oil change at the same.

Great looking mk5 - love the write up on it. Sounds as though it was in need of TLC when you bought it!

Bit of an aside - are you based in Dawlish - I swear I saw this car on the estate my sis & brother-in-law have just moved into. I remember seeing the pin striped mirrors and yellow fogs & thought how well they made the car look!
