Weird hobbies?

Has anybody any unusual hobbies?
I hope I'm not alone!

I've always been into the military and wars, especially WW1 & WW2..
I found out about my families involvements and researched everything about them, I found it really interesting..
Then, after going to see my uncle who has their medals and has a few other medals which he collects, I thought I'd give it a go... So yeah, I have started to collect medals from WW1 & WW2 and researching the story about the people who earned them.
I didn't like the idea of it at first as I'd hate to take medals from their families.. But then thought, if they don't care about them... Then I suppose someone should...

Anyone else have weird hobbies or am I just a weirdo?

I'm guessing the latter!

I've been the one in London a few years back and went on a battlefields tour with school (which I didn't appreciate at the time)

I have a German service dagger from WW2. Worth about £900 I think. Grandfather had tonnes of stuff, given me the odd bit every now and then.

I have a MASSIVE interest in WW1, always have had, I get it from my Father. We visit the battlefields on a regular basis (to pay our respects to my great grandfather who died at the battle of the Somme) and to walk the trenches, study the battles etc. My dad has a "few" WW1 guns, military documentation (maps and plans) etc.

I also build scale wooden model warships (tallships) and other vehicles from scratch blah blah blah.

Not sure if it makes me a geek, I would like to think so!

I have a healthy distrust of peeps with no outside work interests/hobbies. What the hell do they do with their spare time?

Weird hobbies - ok then...I kid you not, but a chap I used to work with used to collect airline sick bags.

Not used, of course...but I was staggered when I found out! Seemed a down to earth guy - no idea how his wife tolerated that!

Not massively into the wars.... but we have a Bayonet from WW1 at home, dated 1914.

Always had an interest in world war 2, been to lots of sites round Europe oradour sur glane (village in france all but destroyed in ww2) I visit Germany with a mate of mine every couple of years been to these places  Mohne dam (dambusters), colditz castle, hitlers eagles nest in Berchtesgaden (stunning part of the world!) stalag luft III (site of the great escape was in Germany now back in Poland)

Keen interest in aviation, seen concordes in the uk, france and been to a museum in Germany (sinsheim) where they have a air france concorde and a Russian tupolev tu-144 (concordski) literally on metal poles on the roof!

Duxford museum is worth the trip aswell, especially the American museum with its blackbird sr71, would love to go to ohio they have a museum with a u2 and a f-117a stealth fighter aswell as lots of other planes.
