Which desk chair?
« on: November 13, 2013, 08:07:18 pm »
Evening Guys,

A bit of a random question- what home office desk chair do you guys recommend?

Like many others, I spend many hours sat in mine - probably more than the sofa so its an important topic!
Ours is a crappy fabric one that well worn so looking for a new one - ideally a leather one.

Can anyone recommend a leather desk chair that's comfy and of decent quality (that wont break after 6 months) for under £100?

Ive already looked at the Recaro ones and almost fell off my current desk chair when i saw the prices!!  :surprised:

Look forward to your suggestions!

Thanks

Rich

Check out some of the ones at Costco.  Generally that's where I pick mine up from.

I always find using a small cushion at the back of any desk chair really helps with posture and also making sure that your arms are supported all the way from your elbow, forearm, wrist to the keyboard.  I use a cheapish leather chair from PC World which is about 10 years old now.  A high back helps too I find.

What annoys me about office chairs is that you can pay £35 for one and then for the exact same thing £135 on a another website... they change the naming conventions to keep it all sly, but don't be fooled! :happy2:

I'm stuck with this too, there's no way of telling how good the chairs are until you try them. You don't know if a £100 chair is a low quality chair at a rip off price or a high quality chair at a bargain price.

I'll probably go for an ikea chair, is anyone using any of their current range?

Think mine is an older version of the VOLMAR Swivel chair with armrests @ £225, mines a burnt orange cloth, picked it up cheap - years ago - as a return or slightly marked item
