Fitting MFSW Buttons
«
on:

Evening,
I have a 2005 GTI which is a manual, is it possble to fit the buttons without having DSG? If I can, apart from the buttons, what else would I need? I have the RCD510 stereo with the upgraded gateway box in car just now.
Thanks

No you can't fit buttons to a steering wheel that doesn't have them, you'll need a new steering wheel, one with the buttons already on it. It makes no difference if your cars a Manual or DSG. Plenty of manual cars have a MFSW.

You're in the same situation as I was. Finding a manual Mk5 MFSW was difficult to say the least (well it was a year or so back), You can use a DSG MFSW but the paddles won't do an awful lot
I went the MK6 MFSW route and got some cost back selling my MK5 wheel and airbag on. The MK6 really updates the 5's interior, if you've got the funds I'd recommend it

Thanks guys. That's mental, you need a new steering wheel? Forget that idea then.
Is there a job that can be done on a golf that isn't a ball ball ache or cost a fortune?

Well they don't cost a lot and you can sit down afterwards.
Your prerequisites met.
