Revo Stage 1 settings after injector fault
« on: February 05, 2014, 02:27:38 pm »
Hi guys, had my golf 1.9tdi remapped by revo last November.
Had an intermittent missfire in cylinder 4 not long after.
Got the injector changed, got the car back and it feels sluggish compared to when I had it mapped.
Checked tyre pressures, used shell V-power on my last fill up, but I just don't feel it was the same as before.
Took it back to revo, they hooked it up to the laptop and saw the map was still there.

Anyone had this sort of problem before?
Or do you think it's just me being used to the map now?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Probably timing is out when they put the injectors back in. You need to retime all of them as they're driven off the cam.

Hi Jay, hope you're well mate.

As in take it to a garage and ge them to retime the injectors?

So it probably isnt anything to do with the map settings?

yes man I'm well and you?

When you remove the injector you need to move the cam as the cam lobe push down the top of the injector to inject fuel.
The timing is very very fiddling to get back right, most places don't bother (or don't do it PROPERLY).

So yes ask them about whether they used the correct gauges to do it. It's not timing as such but yeah never the less.

Ah damn, I hope that isnt the case, I'm sure they set the injectors up correctly.
It's a diesel injection specialist in Isleworth, I remember them using the gauges.

Its so annoying, paid over £300 and feels like the cars reverted back to stock.
