Have a search on here i did a DIY when i changed the wives bonnet catch, Simply job took me 30mins.

I had the same problem earlier this year.  Faffed about with it for a while (unsuccessfully) and in the end all it took was a bit of WD40 in the mechanism.

And this is why I don't do DIY- I attempted to take off the grill to get to the latch however the clips at the top of the grill appeared stuck so I put a screwdriver behind one of them and it snapped... Anyway I did manage to get the other one off. Just cleaned the latch and used WD40 which has done the job for the now.

Thanks for all the help folks, I just wish I was better at the execution!

It's not you it's the plastic and the weather - always better if the cars in a nice warm garage for any of those risky bits.

Please you've fixed it though!
