Merc SL500/Alphards wheels.. Will they rub?

So confused, as all the research I've done suggests that these wheels will possibly fit a MK5, but barely..
However, the guy selling them has pictures of them fitting quite well.




I'm on coils and he's on air, so I won't be tucking as much tyre as him.

Question is, will they fit with no arch work? I can get new tyres on the front if needed

EDIT: Found that the fronts are the same fitment as Alphards if that helps

I was thinking since the front tyres are shot anyway if go for a 205 40?

You would need front arches rolled, pulled as well ideally. I personally wouldn't run that size on coils.

I don't mind getting them rolled, but I'd really rather not get the arches pulled..
So do you think a 205 40 will give enough clearance, or would a 195 be the way to go?
The wheels are really growing on me now haha

I'm on 8.5 x 18 et 35 with 215/40's & I'm on coilovers.

I'm about 1/2 inch lower than that on the front, do you get any rubbing?
Have you had any arch work either?

Get a bit of stretch on them and you'll be fine dude  :smiley:

As jay said get your archers rolled for that little bit extra space . You could also camber the rear slightly.

No rubbing on the front, arches not rolled. But I did remove one if the screws and bend the tang back.
I'm on 215/40/18 Nankangs NS2, they are actually not bad tyres!!!

215/35/18 will fit nicely on them.

It doesn't matter what engine you have or what money you've spent dude, so get a thread going.
