Vag Com
« on: November 19, 2013, 04:09:53 pm »
Hi, im after buying Vag-com, we used to have it at the garage I used to work at and all I used to do was bring the lead home and use it on my laptop after I downloaded the software but cant do that now. what do I need to buy? Is it just the cable? iv had a quick search and there seems to be a lot of different versions cables etc. Im needing to do some fuel logs on a golf I have that keeps getting fuel cut problems. Thanks

Another shout for Gendan! I bought mines from there, got it the next day.

There are a few UK distributors of the genuine cable, and Gendan is probably the cheapest after postage etc  :happy2:

Good find, this one includes the manual and carry case unlike Gendan's offering  :happy2:

That's why I like this forum. I know people get fed up of repeat questions but instead of me spending hours to find the best deal it only takes 2 seconds for some sensible responses. Cheers people

Sorry for the hijack but, is VCDS / ross-tech what VW would use when you pay them a visit?

No. They use a special VW tool

I assume VCDS is the closest thing we can get though?

Yes. It's basically been reverse engineered. It's a brilliant tool.

Definitely worth the £263 from that link further up then, just have to learn how to use it
