MK6 Climate Control

Hi all,

I'm getting an RCD510 so I decided to also get the MK6 climate control unit. I understand this should fit as mine has the AC button and is an 08.

I can't find a huge amount of info but I have ordered a fascia surround thing from a mk 6 from vw which hopefully should be correct.

Is there anything else I will need?

VCDS as you have to do the adaption  - go to Ross tech

And have a look there but it's required if you want the system to run correctly.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was for older cars.
What will happen if I don't do that?

It tends not to work correctly - just do a bit digging on the rosstech site and it points you in the right direction!

I have found someone who can do it. Should I fit it and see what happens or just wait and fit it then get the reset done?

It's all easy really -  just that's what's needed to finish the job off correctly!

On the facia you'll need the Jetta MKV one not MKVI if I remember correctly!

Oh no! I've ordered a mk6 one from vw now!!

I've found a part number on here: 1K0 858 069 M 1QB

That sound right?

No idea what I ordered, told him to go get the reg off the mk6 out the back my mate just bought and use that lol

That's an old number now which will fit but now it's :-

1k0 858 069 N 1QB. Price £ 32.66 full retail inc vat

That's the one you need to order if buying from anywhere

Look at that image that's from a 2009 Jetta you need to make sure that matches the electronic panel you've ordered do you know that part number?
