What do you guys carry in your cars over the winter months? Got a feeling it's gonna be a cold one.

I always carry: First Aid kit, AA card, Old Mobile in glovebox switched off with charge cable, small toolkit, Safety kit and Oil Kit things from VW, de-mister

If it's going to be bad, in the wheel well I'll put in a section of carpet, tow-rope, jump leads, extra screenwash, de-icer, hi-vis, space blanket.

And most importantly suitable clothing so you can walk out.... which could be a good 10 miles, if no phone reception. :scared:

I was thinking of whacking in my old sleeping bag which packs up small...  haha, or just stay at home!! :happy2:

I forgot the Winter Tyres, so you don't get stuck in the first place!

Loads...old mats/bit carpet for traction or leaning on if I have to inspect under car, sleeping bag, dynamo torch, rope for towing, sturdy jump leads, screenwash, coolant, compact shovel, gloves/hat/jacket with hi viz/socks, bar of chocolate/water in cabin, scraper, basic toolset etc. All goes in a holdall.

I live 900ft up and usually the biggest problem is others being unprepared and ditching cars by the roadside. I have snowtyres and it sometimes makes no difference how prepared you are or have AA coverage if the road is blocked.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.

At the very least get yourself some snowsocks (made by Autosock I think, the best ones), they can get you out a pickle. Used to use them to get on my driveway. You take them off once at a main road.

Aha, in my neck of the woods Richness? Would be good to arrange a wee meet up with some of the Edinburghers sometime in Dec. Where about are you staying? Up for work?
