windscreen frost guard

Does anyone use those windscreen frost guards? just wondering if they work and if its worth my time going getting one?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to use an old bed sheet?

Got one for £2 from Aldi, never been that sure if they work and not really been that frosty yet, but they can double up as a foil sheet for the boot in a breakdown I guess

i was just going to use an old bed sheet, do you just stuff the remainder inside the door and trap it onto the car?

can that be done all the way around on a 3 door? im only asking this now as im at work and nowhere near my car to test this out lol..

plus i don't want to buy anything remotely expensive for some frost and a little gobsh*ite to steal it from the car on the way past... iv already had my dust caps removed...

I think you can buy some type of windscreen spray you apply over night to prevent the windscreen from icing up overnight

I don't use one on the car but do use one of the cheapo Lidl jobs on the work's van because the screen's a sod to reach in order to scrape it.  When I take the protector off the screen, I roll it up and stand it in a bucket in the hallway to save carting a big wet piece of material about all day.

It's IPA basically.
dries out the seals.

Best thing is to apply a quality windscreen sealant such as a G1 and use a damp, cold wet MF towel in the morning.

well some of us can only park our pride and joy on a road 

especially on a corner.... god help the f*cker who takes that too quickly when its icy and goes anywhere near my car 

(bit of context; they did it last year, shunted my dads up the curb destroying the front end and tried to drive off! wheel spinning away... )
