VAGCOM - VCDS - Which version do I need for a mk5?

Just wondering what i need to scan a MK5.

I have a obd cable which I used for my old mk4. What do I need to get it all working for the mk5? any lite versions?

So it seems that it is not possible to scan the car with my old mk4 cable :( (ebay cable)

I think I need a Hex+CAN cable?

Micro-CAN or Hex+CAN (the latter way more compatible and future proof)
