DAB radio leads

im changing the sterio in my mk5

currently have the 300 in and im changing to the RCD 510 DAB version

what extra leads do I need and what do I do about the DAB ariel

also I want to fit an aux cable for my shone so I can play the music etc

what lead do I get for this

links etc are welcome

I found this quite useful. You can use your original aerial for FM by removing the plastic off the end of the connectors (or buy an adaptor lead for £25)

DAB you can get a separate aerial (glass mounted for example) which needs a female SMB connector.

For aux you can either use the original vw aux kit of you have it and you will need to swap a few pins or buy the MDI kit which gives full ipod control etc for £120 or so

I've just done this with the help of www.dabonwheels.co.uk.

They supplied the DAB Ariel and the required leads. Pretty straight forward but dropping the headlining on My ED30 was kinda scary!!

The DAB will work with the standard arial connection as a previously mentioned but will cut all the time and you won't pick up everything.

For 12v feed to arial I simply took a wire from the 12v power point in the boot.

I would allow yourself a whole day for this and a second pair of hands!
